Killing care and grief of heart
Fall asleep, or hearing, die."

The boys. What you can’t play on at least one of these, isn’t worth playing. #fender #stratocaster #strat #epiphone #les #paul #guitar
Mon vélo (technically belongs to my brother). None of this fixed gear malarkey, just a small bike that gets me around Edinburgh. #bicycle #bike #bmx #fit #junior

Just finished watching “The Darjeeling Limited” and was pretty impressed. I love Wes Anderson’s films and I can tell it’s the sort of film I’ll watch a million times and pick up something new I didn’t notice each time. Having 2 brothers, all of us living in different cities, I understood the seemingly odd idea that for some reason you still want to spend time with and enjoy the company of these people that regularly frustrate you and who you might not actually have be friends with if you weren’t related (as pointed out in the film), and felt I could even draw some vague parallels between the Whitman brothers and my own. Lots of nice, sentimental themes and motifs shot in typical Wes Anderson style and setting.
After speaking to a friend I hadn’t seen in years at a NYE party about loads of films and TV shows we were both into, we (inevitably) ended up talking about Wes Anderson’s films. I had been looking for some Wes Anderson DVDs in Edinburgh’s HMV but all his stuff was sold out, however somehow I got The Royal Tenenbaums and Moonrise Kingdom in Perth’s HMV for £10.
Cast shot of Wes Anderson’s “The Royal Tenenbaums”. Watched it on Sky Movies a few nights ago. It’s the first Wes Anderson film I’ve seen but I thought it was shot beautifully and I can’t wait to see more of his films. #wes #anderson #royal #tenenbaums

I finished watching HBO’s Rome a couple of nights ago, I was pretty impressed by it overall. I think it’s a great shame it was cancelled and it was clear from the rapid wrapping up of the storyline during season 2 that the plot suffered from this. Though while watching the series it was clear to me that it was a very expensive project, but I didn’t realise that funding from HBO and the BBC would not be sufficient to continue the series any longer. If you’re looking for a great TV programme to watch that doesn’t require a huge commitment it’s only 22 episodes split between 2 seasons and is held in such great esteem by so many people as a great programme cut short by lack of funding. As I’ve studied quite a bit of ancient history at university I thought it would be a bit of fun to go along with my studies and I was pleasantly surprised as to how true it is to history, so it’s actually pretty educational regarding the end of the Roman Republic and the formation of the Empire. I would rate Ray Stevenson’s portrayal of the fictional ‘Titus Pullo’ as one of my top characters from any TV series and urge you to watch it to see all of the above for yourself.
On the 23rd of November I went to see Bellowhead, an English folk big band at the Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh with my family, they were supported by a Swiss 3-piece Cajun band called Mama Rosin who were incredible. After the show I met Mama Rosin and Jon Boden, who were all very sociable and were happy to sign anything and chat to anyone. I tried to enjoy myself by not constantly taking photos, instead just enjoying the night, so here are some of the few photos I took.
